[Post-Carbon Society]

Under the Paris Agreement, Transition towards a sustainable lifestyle is an important aspect of the global sustainability agenda. Meeting the climate mitigation goals of the global agreement requires substantial changes to the production and consumption patterns in everyday life. By analysing the quantifiable aspects of zero-carbon cities, we are investigating ‘how to design future cities that provide the best conditions for low carbon lifestyle choices.’ Our design tool aims to generate different urban patterns and analyse the potential carbon emissions reduction through the experimentation of urban green infrastructure and clean renewable energy strategies. The generated urban layout will then be studied in terms of accessibility by comparing the connectivity to nearby food amenities.
