The Factory of Escape

My project aims to create a space that sparks a sense of wonder and accommodates play. The purpose of the peculiar evocative spaces in my building is to force people to stop and notice. Busy and caught up in our daily lives we live life with such unseeing eyes. My strange spaces bring an element of newness and therefore curiosity forcing attention to the environment around you. The building sits on top of an office tower, offering a space for overworked individuals to escape to. The aim of the design is to transform the Radient city, a concrete city designed for speed and efficiency, into a city designed for people. This idea of slowing down to notice your environment battles the rat race and the capitalist trap of constantly chasing better and falling victim to a materialistic society.
