Mayfield Vertical Streetscape
Mayfield's Vertical Streetscape serves as a location of inhabitation as well as a mechanism to enable small businesses to thrive and connect with the rest of the area and the city. Currently, Mayfield's businesses are isolated and fragmented by the sparse cul-de-sacs and warehouses that dictate the urban morphology, resulting in businesses that are tucked away or even hidden. With pedestrian access at ground level to Fairfield Street as well as above the adjacent railway arches, the Vertical Streetscape encourages foot traffic from across Mayfield and the wider city and offers a space that invites businesses to relocate and thrive in the open.
