Kino Archipelago

My project proposes Mayfield as a KINO Archipelago, which will be connected through a path of cinema experiences.

For each user, the journey will start from Mayfield Park to the chosen site.

The  path will provide intimate cinema exhibitions, pavilions or everyday objects, which could create a cinematic experience. The architect here becomes a director of the wildlife of Mayfield, manipulating this journey which every passer by has to make to reach the site from the park.

Connecting the site through motions takes further the programme of the building and expands it  to all of  Mayfield. A ‘cinema’ is about different shapes, lighting and atmospheres which enhance a screening.

The final destination of the journey, the building proposal is a 'collection' of cinema experiences as well. From the shape to the lighting, each room offers a different experience, appropriate to a certain type of screening.

In the end, even the actual building becomes a screen for an outdoor cinema.
