What does the service station of the future look like? How do we make the future service station a destination? Service stations have become a disregarded part of our cities urban architecture even though they are an essential part of our road networks. In order to not make the future service station another forgotten architecture, there has a to be a community that can take ownership of the space. The proposal for my service station, therefore, is to create a small village like space that includes residential areas. The service station will have dining in restaurants which use goods from the on-site market farms. These goods are also traded out of site to nearby communities. Creating a small community allows the future service station to be regarded as a destination as opposed to a stop-over therefore keeping it alive.
