My interest and the research question for this thesis project is "How Self-sustaining Supply Chain specific to Cattle can be as Environmentally and Ecologically Beneficial as possible?". To answer this question, I started my research by looking at the issues of Climate change, Agriculture, and Food Security. The research showed that Food accounts for a quarter of 26% of the global Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, about half of the world’s habitable land are used for agriculture. Food, therefore, lies at the heart of trying to tackle climate change, reducing water stress, pollution, and to protect the world’s wildlife to bring back its biodiversity.

Out of all kinds of food, producing 1kg of beef emits 60kg of GHG emissions. Which is the highest compared to others. To tackle these issues producing lab-growth meat will therefore reduce its GHG emissions and land-used space. As a result, it can free up space/land for other uses, such as solar farm and or nature reserve etc…

In response to the future need, this modern hybrid building/ factory houses a number of laboratories for the lab-grown meat research/ production, assembly and shipping area, office, communication space and staff restaurant, bio-mass power plant, and a Wagyu farm that would produce the best Wagyu beef in the UK.
