We Versions: An Auditory Investigation of Coventry Inner Ring-Road

Matt Williams has worked extensively as an independent and institutional curator with several national and international public organisations, including the Camden Art Centre, Brent Biennale 2020, Reading International, Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), International Project Space at Birmingham City University, and K11 in Shanghai among others.

He has organised numerous monographic exhibitions and public programmes to develop a unique portfolio of cultural initiatives and interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of art and society in conversation with creative practitioners, academics, publishers, and independent organisations.

His PhD practice-based research examines the capacity for Sound Art to narrate situated socio-cultural histories within Post-War urban architectural spaces. The research project employs curatorial praxis to commission new sound works that respond to historical countercultural activities organised by marginalised publics within Coventry Ring Road's peripheral spaces.
