Matt is an RIBA Chartered architect based in Liverpool, where he runs his own practice. He studied at Newcastle University working on live projects in Zanzibar, East Africa and visiting the work of Peter Zumthor on whom he wrote his undergraduate thesis. Matt then went on to work for a number of years at a large studio in Liverpool, designing residential, sporting, community, and masterplanning projects before completing the advanced diploma through RIBA North in 2019. As a member of the Centre for Alternative Technology he believes strongly in a sustainable future for architecture, using green materials such as hemp, lime, and reclaimed stone on his projects. Alongside his practice work he has taught at the MSA in the BA Studio and Skills since 2021.
