The Green Junction: Where heritage, biodiversity, and community converge

Sustainability is a core value in all of the work I undertake, with a strong focus on increasing biodiversity, creating an efficient building envelope, and maximising the use of natural and passive systems wherever possible. Passivhaus standards, and the related products and systems that help achieve this, are implemented where suitable with minimising environmental impact a priority throughout the design process.

The Green Junction reimagines Crewe Heritage Centre as a sustainable community destination that reconnects the town with its industrial heritage. Inspired by the Continuity ethos, the project reuses materials from the existing site alongside commemorative artefacts and sculptures to preserve Crewe's past, while supporting a regenerative future. Slow movement is encouraged around the site with exhibition spaces, community facilities, biodiverse landscapes, and outdoor gathering spaces available to promote social interaction, and engagement with both heritage and nature.
