Nexus Tomorrow
Set in a future East Manchester affected by nuclear fallout, this project proposes a new urban framework that allows humans to safely inhabit radioactive environments without retreating into bunkers.
Using a Transit Oriented Development approach, the design reconnects the city and its landscape, aiming for long-term resilience and recovery. An evolutionary generative design process was used across multiple scales, from positioning transport hubs to optimising path layouts, enabling adaptive and accessible movement through the site.
My role is to focus on the comptational output through using Grasshopper and Rhino previously learnt in MArch 1, and to bring the project to life within the virtual reality aspects within newly learnt software using Unreal Engine 5.
