INTERLUDE FESTIVAL
CITY OF INVOLVEMENT AND EVOLVEMENT
The project examines the complex tensions and interconnections between the urban environment, politics and social wellbeing.
Architecture is viewed as a tool for recognizing and celebrating the temporality of the ever-changing city and as an opportunity for making existence more conscious and involved. Therefore, a festival reappears annually and encourages people to get involved NOW - to participate in the festival tower’s construction as a symbolic act of collectivism, to take part in a procession around the city, to enjoy the space before it inevitably transforms again.
The beauty of ephemerality is applied as a design principle, resulting in structures which appear and disappear and are made from materials that age to reflect the passage of time.
