My thesis aims at how the Eastern Gateway redevelopment addresses affordable housing equity for residents by examining the impact of hybridized land use to reduce travel related costs of living and the options for low energy construction choices.

The site is based in East Manchester, in collaboration with Eastern Gateway developers and Manchester City Council, I provide a portfolio covering the full design process and address a number of difficulties.

Several spatial options were generated and tested as part of my design strategy. The testing for my computational model-based methodology relied on several dynamic states of the model that I described during the pattern generating procedures. My design concentrated on mobility patterns at the neighbourhood scale and linked those to patterns at a broader urban scale.
