In Venice, about 70% of the income generated by tourism every year, which has a remarkable impact on Venices' economic growth. However, the relatively single economic structure has affected the local residents' life, and the continuous depopulation since the 1950s has made Venice no longer ‘young’. therefore,  the hope is to retain young population back to Venice through higher education, while at the same time finding a delicate balance between tourism and the knowledge economy.
