Zane Zeivate is a workshop technician at the B.15 Workshop. She is also a practising visual artist working in sculpture and spatial interventions. Her practice is research rooted and shaped by her background in architecture, which examines the politics of space and the interplay between built environments and human perception. Zane seeks architectural details in cities and turns them into metaphors that speak about the social values, female emancipation, and our daily urban environment. She is passionate about research gaining tangible outputs, which leads Zane to frequently write for architectural publications and exhibit her sculptures internationally.
Zane holds an MA in Interior Architecture from Sandberg Institute, Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam and a BSc in Architecture and Urban Planning from Riga Technical University. Her experience at Hosoya Schaefer Architects (CH) and Zaiga Gaile. Architects (LV) has provided her with experience with renovations and a range of architecture competitions and urban design studies for large-scale projects. Throughout her architecture studies and work, Zane has explored modelmaking across scales, materials, and techniques.
Zane works with a variety of materials, helping students explore what inspires them and what best suits their ideas. She encourages experimentation and challenges traditional approaches—from concept to outcome. Through this process, students learn the importance of materials, the purpose behind their models and how to align them with their design objectives.
