Manchester School of Architecture (MSA) has once again been ranked 5th in the world in the QS World University Rankings by Subject for Architecture and the Built Environment.

The result marks the fourth consecutive year that MSA has held this position, reinforcing its status as one of the leading architecture schools globally and demonstrating sustained excellence across teaching, research and industry engagement.

MSA’s performance reflects continued strength in employability, academic reputation and research impact, key indicators within the QS methodology. As a prestigious global benchmark, the rankings analyse the reputation and research output of more than 1,700 institutions across 100 locations worldwide, highlighting the international impact of the School’s teaching and research.

As a joint school of Manchester Metropolitan University and The University of Manchester, MSA brings together a long-standing tradition of architectural education with strong links to practice. This connection is reflected in the success of its students and graduates, who are highly sought after by employers in the UK and internationally.

Professor Kevin Singh, Head of Manchester School of Architecture, said:

“We are once again delighted and proud to have been ranked 5th in the prestigious QS world rankings for Architecture. It is even more pleasing that this is now the fourth year in a row we have been ranked 5th, an achievement which demonstrates a high level of achievement across a sustained period of time.

I’m personally very proud to have led the School over this impressive period and as usual must thank colleagues for their incredible contributions to our research and teaching which inform the metrics of this reputational global survey of employers and educators.

The ranking is a source of great pride for our students, graduates, and alumni, and provides an important indicator of quality to the practices that they strive to work for.”

This continued recognition reflects the strength of MSA’s studio culture, research excellence and close relationship with the architecture profession, as well as the achievements of its students, graduates and alumni working across the world.
