A place to play, a place to belong.

This project explores how playful spatial interventions can foster a sense of belonging among international students in university accommodation. Inspired by the fluidity of play, it integrates shared, threshold, and private spaces through dynamic massing and flexible elements. Drawing from real experiences of cultural transition, the design provides opportunities for personalisation, interaction, and discovery — transforming accommodation into a vibrant, inclusive community. Play is not only a physical activity but a catalyst for connection and identity in a new environment.
