The Pelagromage. A Posthuman Journey of Perspective to Hilbre Island.
“The Pelagromage” is a portmanteau comprised of “Archipelago” & “Pilgrimage”. The project was curated around the design principles of habitat creation, resilient planting within coastal landscapes, and working with nature to mitigate the effects of the climate crisis on Hilbre Island.
The Pelagromage offers an alternative narrative from a non-human perspective, to educate human visitors how they can minimise damage to their ecosystems.
It explores the legacy of Hilbre Island and uncovers the interrelationships between humans and non-humans through time.
I enjoy working through an artistic approach with sketches, model making, and photo collage. These mediums help bring my ideas to life in aim to capture the atmosphere of the environmental context for the audience.
