Rewilding
This project takes "REWILDING" as the core topic and is located at the commercial and industrial junction of Manchester's Trafford Park. By introducing ecological infrastructure and multi-species coexistence strategies, it responds to problems such as urban ecological discontinuity, loss of biological habitats and excessive human intervention. The design divides the site with a triple spatial structure of "wild-buffer-human", and breaks through the spatial barriers between humans and non-humans through strategies such as sunken trails, ecological corridors, and ecological tunnels.
The plant configuration combines local species with ecological function stratification to rebuild landform diversity and habitat integrity. The material selection emphasizes sustainability and reuse, and the construction strategy constructs a "perceptible ecology" through micro-topography and low-intervention principles. The project aims to build a multi-level symbiotic landscape system where human activities are controllable and non-humans survive freely, exploring wild renewal and ecological justice in the context of industrial cities.
