The Peoples' Union
Within the UK loneliness is on the rise, those aged between 16-24 are most affected, and those aged between 65-74 are least affected. Can the older users help reduce loneliness and increase their sense of purpose through creative arts. The Peoples’ Union aims to aid positive relationships between these demographics creating a space which facilitates spontaneous and planned interactions between the two. Adapting University of Manchester’s Students’ Union, to encourage both users to collaborate and skill share with each other. The Peoples union features, various performance spaces which are tied to the local context, an arts space giving users the freedom to express themselves and work collaboratively on projects. With an underlying connection to nature and the outdoors.
