recalibrating the wild in Richmond park

Richmond Park in London is a historic landscape and an urban wildlife refuge, long shaped by deer grazing. This project addresses ecological imbalance—bracken overgrowth limits diversity, and deer suppress other wildlife. Employing a low-intervention rewilding strategy—introducing Highland cattle, establishing wetlands, supporting pollinators, and planting anti-grazing buffers—the design aims to recalibrate park dynamics. It envisions a future where Richmond Park maintains its historic wildness while supporting richer biodiversit.
