How can the interior space of a steel-framed temporary building, located adjacent to the local government office in Xianju County, be renovated to provide a disguised public building that serves as a shelter for local whistleblowers suffering from human rights persecution?
This project is inspired by my mother's unfortunate experience and uses architectural strategies to respond to these issues, exploring how architecture can offer care for the vulnerable under an authoritarian regime.
As a scholar who has experienced architectural education in both China and the UK, I am committed to bringing more advanced architectural concepts and teaching methods to Chinese students in the future, becoming both a practitioner and an educator in architecture.
Beyond my academic work, I am also passionate about photography, with extensive experience in spatial and portrait photography that has received positive feedback. I will continue to pursue this passion as I explore the world of architecture and architectural studies.
