To show their commitment to excellence and talent in architectural education, Wienerberger are offering a scholarship of £1,000.00 to five Candidates wishing to complete their Part 3 with Manchester School of Architecture. The Scholarship is open to Candidates enrolling in MSA’s PgCert Architecture and Contemporary Practice (RIBA Part 3), who meet the following eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for a Wienerberger Scholarship with MSA, students must have an unconditional offer to study on the PgCert Architecture and Contemporary Practice, and fall into one of the following three categories:

  1. The Scholarship is available to support Candidates who have experienced extraordinary or unforeseen events, or expenditure which has significantly impacted their level of income.

  2. The scholarship recognises excellence in architectural education and early practice career and so applications are welcome from Candidates who feel they have been very successful in their studies and career to date.

  3. As the world’s largest producer of bricks, the Wienerberger scholarship recognises Candidates who have a keen interest in buildings constructed from bricks, especially from a sustainable perspective.

Award Payment Process

If successful, the scholarship of £1,000.00 will be paid directly to the candidate by the Manchester School of Architecture, at the beginning of their programme of study. The successful applicant will complete and return a Student Award Claim Form which will be processed internally through MMU Finance team. The forms will be administered along with confirmation of the scholarship offer.

If, for any reason, the candidate fails to complete the Part 3 programme and chooses to withdraw from the University, the provision of the scholarship will be terminated, with the full amount of the award due to be paid back to Manchester School of Architecture. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, following a series of support sessions and appropriate intervention action.

Celebratory Events

Following award of the scholarship, MSA will invite the five successful Candidates, along with Wienerberger representatives to the school for a celebratory event at the beginning of the programme. This will be held at Manchester Technology Centre and will be an opportunity to meet the sponsor and celebrate success. At the end of the programme, MSA hosts a celebration event for Part 3 graduates, and Wienerberger representatives will be cordially invited to attend and personally congratulate their scholars. Details of events will be issued following commencement of the programme.
